Teenager Counselling Services
Young people live in a tough world. It is complex and ever-changing. They face the challenges of dealing with social media and the internet and they can be under enormous conflicting pressure from peer and family situations. They often keep their emotions secret and bottled up inside which can lead to serious problems if not addressed. Parents see the tell-tale signs of mood changes, withdrawal, poor school attendance, concentration problems, increased conflict and inappropriate or risky behaviours. Fortunately, most issues young people face are temporary and part of growing up and their outlook can be improved greatly if caught early and treated appropriately. At Rossmoyne Psychology we help young people grow in resilience and face new challenges with confidence. We help young people to adopt a more calm and focused approach, recognize their abilities and build on their strengths.
Rossmoyne Psychology utilises evidence-based treatment approaches and draws from current research to help young people with a wide-range of issues. Therapy sessions involve creative and practical activities to consolidate skills so they can apply tools and strategies for coping. We recognize that a unique approach must be taken when working with teenagers. We use well-researched treatment methods that include; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Schema Therapy, Circle of Security, Mindfulness, Art Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
